Infrared Sauna Therapy
Sweat. Detox. Heal.
Enjoy the many benefits of a traditional sauna, but without the harsh temperatures. Infrared saunas stay much milder in temperature by using the radiant heat 🔥of infrared to warm your body directly without warming the air around you. This infrared heat penetrates deep into tissues, muscles, and bone, promoting relaxation, healing, and detoxing of the mind and body.
What is Infrared Sauna Therapy?
Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared saunas don’t heat the air around you. Instead, they use infrared radiant energy to directly penetrate into the body’s tissue to produce perspiration. This allows an infrared sauna to operate at a lower temperature than traditional saunas, so the experience is more enjoyable and you can comfortably stay longer.
Benefits of Infrared Sauna Therapy
Weight Loss & Increased Metabolism
While you relax in the gentle infrared heat, your body is hard at work producing sweat, pumping blood, and burning calories. This leads to a boost in your cardiovascular system similar to the effect of running. Learn more about the science and studies behind the weight loss benefits of infrared saunas.
Relax and Rejuvenate
In the gentle warmth of an infrared sauna, you will feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and renewed within minutes. The heat will also help to relax muscles and relieve tension throughout the body, allowing you to unwind and de-stress.
Infrared sauna therapy increases your blood circulation and stimulates the sweat glands, releasing built-up toxins in the body. This is a benefit of traditional saunas as well, but infrared saunas are 7x more effective.
Infrared therapy releases natural pain-killing endorphins, increases blood circulation and relaxes muscles. All this leads to pain relief for muscle aches and joint pain.
Scientific research has shown that infrared therapy enhances the skin’s healing processes by promoting faster cell regeneration and tissue growth. Cell growth increases to repair wounds and prevent infection.
Purify Your Skin
Want clearer, softer, healthier-looking skin? Infrared sauna technology offers these benefits by eliminating toxins from your pores and increasing blood circulation.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Drink water. Drink a glass of water before your session to ensure you are hydrated. You’re also welcome to bring water into the sauna, especially if you’re sensitive to higher heats.
- Decide what you want to do while in the sauna. You may just want to relax, meditate, or pray. Or you may choose to bring a book, some music, or even a friend to pass the time.
- Ditch the lotions. Lotions and oils inhibit sweating and clog up pores. This minimizes some of the sauna’s benefits. Plus, dripping sweat might bring your lotion right into your eyes. No, thank you!
Cool down. It’s important to relax and cool down for at least 10 minutes after your session. Drink some water and relax until your body stops perspiring. Then, take a warm shower to exfoliate your skin and remove sweat residue, old skin cells and any toxins that have risen to the surface of your skin. End the shower with some cooler water to cool down your body completely and close the skin pores.
How you dress is up to you. Lightweight shorts and t-shirt are fine. Swimsuits are better. Your “Birthday Suit” is fine, too. More skin exposure makes it easier to wipe away sweat.
If this is your first time in an infrared sauna, start with 10 to 15 minutes. You can build up to the suggested time of 20 to 30 minutes.
